You can activate email alerts if you are using a SensorPush G1 WiFi Gateway in conjunction with your SensorPush sensors. The Gateway is required because in order for you to receive an email, the data from your sensors needs to be sent via the internet, which the sensors cannot do on their own. The Gateway relays the data of any in-range SensorPush sensors to the internet using your local WiFi or Ethernet to your network, and this process makes it possible to send email alerts.
You can activate email alerts for the account using the web dashboard for the Gateway. Here is the link to the web dashboard: https://dashboard.sensorpush.com Once you log in, go to the settings icon in the upper right where you will find the option to activate email alerts and other features (e.g. change the password or the email address for the account). Also, the email alert system allows you to assign multiple email recipients to receive alerts.
If you do not use a SensorPush Gateway in conjunction with your sensors, you can definitely still get alerts. By default, no matter what kind of SensorPush set up you use, all alerts utilize your mobile device's notifications features. Notifications are a standard feature of your smartphone or tablet's operating system (both Apple and Android).
Notifications are messages that are similar to text messages that appear on your device. They are triggered by an app, much like the news apps triggers a breaking news alert mentioned on the website, and they are also by email apps when new emails arrive, health apps, sports apps, and a wide range of other types of apps on both Apple and Android devices.
